The Director Defence Media Operations (DMO), Major General Musa Danmadami, says troops of Operation HADARIN DAJI (OPHD) have neutralized a notorious bandit leader, Mr Ibrahim Chire and his follower while many others escaped with gunshot wounds in Zamfara State.
The DMO,in a statement disclosed that troops made the feat while engaging the criminals in during a fighting patrol to their enclave at Doka village,Gando forest in Anka Local Government Area of the state on Thursday.
General Danmadami noted that troops engaged the bandits in a deliberate super fire fight and overpowered the criminals ,obliterating their leader and one other while many who sustained gunshot wounds escaped.
“During the patrol, troops made contact with bandits and engaged with enormous/deliberate fire. Troops in the process neutralized two terrorists while others fled with injuries.
“During exploitation of the general area, one of the neutralized terrorist was identified as Mr Ibrahim Chire a notorious bandit leader known for terrorizing Gando, Gwashi, Bukkuyum and Anka general areas. Troops recovered one AK 47, 4 round of 7.62mm Special, one Motorcycle, mobile phones amongst others.”
The statement lauded troops for their dexterity and urged them never to rest on their oars.
It also enjoined the general public to continue to avail troops with credible and timely information on criminal activities.
