The Atiku/Okowa Nationwide Supporters Group (AONSG), has pledged to mobilise votes for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential Candidate, Atiku Abubakar, in all polling units across the country.

AONSG National Coordinator, Danjuma Gwoza, made the promise when the group was being received by the by PDP Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) in Abuja on Tuesday.

Gwoza said that the group, formerly members of the President Muhammadu Buhari/ Yemi Osinbajo Nationwide Supporters Group with members across the 774 local government areas, now officially defected to PDP.

He said that the group decided to join PDP because they believe in the capacity of Abubakar and his running mate, Sen. Ifeanyi Okowa, to bring a new rebirth to Nigeria.

Gwoza described the group as a formidable conglomerate of political like-minded individuals made of different supporters’ group, such as civil society organizations, market women, civil servants, artisan and, youth organizations.

He said that the group which contributed immensely to President Muhammadu Buhari’s victory in 2015 and 2019, has now declared its support for Atiku/Okowa for Saturday’s election.

He said that has embarked on a continuous voters’ education programme, primarily designed to enhance the electoral fortune of the Atiku/Okowa campaign mercenary.

“Our members are strategically located within the 36 States of the Federation, including the FCT, 774 local government areas and the electoral wards spread across Nigeria.

“The said mercenary had been given requisite electioneering training that would guarantee the desired win-win result for Atiku/Okowa on Saturday,” Gwoza said.

He said that the group has mandated its members across the country to canvass for votes for Abubakar across all polling units, saying the group’s target is to reach over 93 million prospective voting population in Nigeria.

“Consequently, we have embarked on massive canvassing and mobilization of votes for our principal in various electoral polling units across the Federation.”

He expressed confidence that the 2022 Electoral Acts and electronic transmission of election results would guarantee Abubakar’s victory on Saturday.

The Team Lead, Atiku Youth Wing, Idris Kalgo, receiving AONSG members into Atiku support groups, commended them for their brave decision to join what he described as the wining team.

Kalgo urged them to go back to their respective polling units and join efforts with other Atiku support groups on the field to deliver massive votes for Abubakar and PDP on Saturday.

He assured the group that that Abubakar would revive the nation’s economy and other sectors, create jobs, ensure security and development, when elected.

“Atiku will priotise economy, security, infrastructure, education and most importantly create enabling atmosphere for our youths to showcase their talents.”

He said that Nigeria is still benefiting from so many achievements, including telecommunication and economic development, recorded during the tenure of Abubakar as vice president.

He said that the job of president was not for an amateur, but for experienced hand which Abubakar had demonstrated when he was vice president.

“We need a president who will unite us, give us a new Nigeria we all desire, and a President who will see all Nigeria as one.

“Let’s all go back to our polling units. Tell the people why they should vote our candidates Abubakar and Okowa. Let them understand why you have come to join us.

“We have a presidential candidate and vice president that truly believe in Nigeria. Candidates who have the capacity to take us out of the present challenges.

“We need an experienced hand who will unite the country not based on ethnicity or religion,” Kalgo said.
