APC youth vanguard urges Tinubu to reconsider appointment of Danfulani as SMDF/PAGMI’s boss

Zamfara APC Youth Vanguard has urges President Bola Tinubu to reconsider the appointment of Yazid Shehu Umar Danfulani as the Executive Secretary of Solid Minerals Development Fund/Presidential Artisanal Gold Mining Initiative (SMDF/PAGMI).
The Chairman of the Vanguard, Muhammad Usman Gusau, made the call in a statement issued oin Saturday in Abuja.
Gusau recalls that Danfulani was appointed as the ES of SMDF/PAGMI) by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Dec. 6, an appointment he described as a giant step to rejuvenating and transforming the solid minerals sector of the economy.
He said that while Nigerians were still celebrating the appointment of a renowned administrator and visionary leader, another press statement was issued by the Special Adviser to the President on Information & Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, replacing him with Hajia Fatima Umaru-Shinkafi.
Umaru-Shinkafi, tenure of office elapsed recently as the ES of SMDF/PAGMI.
Gusau said no doubt Umaru-Shinkafi has contributed her quota in piloting the affairs of SMDF/PAGMI since 2017 she assumed office. It is time to take the solid minerals sector to a greater height by a purposeful, resourceful and innovative leader.
“We therefore urge President Bola Tinubu to graciously reconsider and review the mix up in the appointment of Danfulani and Umaru-Shinkafi as Executive Secretary of SMDF same day.
“Danfulani is an embodiment of patriotism, a development expert with enormous intellectual capacity.
“He will bring his wealth of experience in banking, computing and business administration to bear on the solid minerals sector, having worked meritoriously at the Central Bank of Nigeria and served as a Commissioner of Commerce and Industry in Zamfara State.
“With a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a Master’s in Arts and Management from the University of Hertfordshire in the United Kingdom, Danfulani will certainly bring a high sense of commitment and innovation in repositioning the SMDF/PAGMI to actualize President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda,’’ he said.
Gusau urged the President to graciously take another look at the mix up in the appointment and consider Danfulani as the Executive Secretary of SMDF.
