The General Overseer, Gospel Believers Mission (GBM), Rev. Ezra Jakko, has urged Nigerians to trust in divine intervention to surmount the nation’s prevailing economic difficulties.

He gave the advice during a press briefing in Abuja ahead of the Church’s 2025 annual National Convention, themed “Times of His Visitation.”

Jakko stated that the theme serves as a potent reminder that God manifests His power in extraordinary ways to bring deliverance and renewal, even in the most challenging periods.

Jakko emphasised that the convention’s theme, drawn from Luke 1:68, carries a timely message of divine renewal and restoration for individuals, families, the Church, and the nation.

The cleric expressed confidence that the event will mark a “season of divine visitation” for all attendees.

“This year’s convention comes at a critical time in our national and spiritual journey.

“The one thing you must not lack in life is hope. If there is no hope, there is no help. As long as there is life, there is hope. Nations rise and fall, but faith and perseverance will always bring restoration,” he said.

Addressing the broader national issues, the cleric identified moral decline as a key challenge, asserting that it can only be reversed through spiritual revival.

He challenged Christians to be pillars of integrity, urging them not to “join the multitude to do evil,” but to stand as voices of truth and righteousness in their communities.

“Light will always prevail over darkness. Believers must not curse their nation or leaders but pray for them and be agents of change,” he said.

He further revealed that the church has already begun translating its message into action through various social impact initiatives, including free medical consultations, treatment, and distribution of drugs at its Abuja and Lagos centers.

The General Overseer highlighted that the convention is not solely focused on spiritual gatherings but also on significant community impact, in line with GBM’s mission anchored on Evangelism, Discipleship, and Compassion and Service.

“This outreach, managed by the GBM Hand of Mercy Foundation, will feature free medical outreach to the needy, empowerment and support for widows, orphans, and internally displaced persons (IDPs).

“This initiative underscores our belief that ministry must touch both soul and body.

“We urge all to join us in earnest prayers, trusting that the Lord will visit us once again with His power and grace,” he said.

Corroborating the General Overseer’s message, the Federal Capital Territory Resident Pastor, Dominic Omokaro, described the forthcoming convention as prophetically significant for national healing.

He urged citizens to maintain a positive outlook, assuring them that divine intervention would catalyze widespread transformation.

“The current challenges confronting the country should be seen as a season of divine assurance, during which God’s presence will bring renewal to the people, the church, and the nation,” he said.

The National convention which is scheduled to hold from Nov. 6 to Nov. 9, will feature ministrations from Rev. Jakko, Bishop Abraham Olaleye, and other anointed ministers of the Gospel.

The main sessions will be held at the GBM Headquarters Church in Surulere, Lagos, with a concurrent, fully activated centre at the Jikwoyi branch in Abuja.

According to the organisers, the convention programmes are open to everyone, irrespective of denomination or faith, promoting an inclusive platform for spiritual renewal and community engagement. (NAN)
