The Catholic Bishop of Maria Mater Ecclesia, Ahiara Diocese, Most Rev. Simon Okezuo Iweobi, has conferred a special episcopal blessing on Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu.
The blessing was performed during a thanksgiving and reception ceremony held at the Maria Mater Ecclesia Cathedral in Mbaise, Imo State.
The event was organised to mark the successful five-year tenure (2021–2026) of Belusochukwu Enwere as the National Chairman of the Youth Wing of the Christian Association of Nigeria (YOWICAN).
Bishop Iweobi offered prayers for Tinubu, who attended as a special guest, seeking divine guidance, protection, and wisdom for him in his service to society.
The ceremony attracted a diverse assembly of political figures, church leaders, and youth stakeholders.
Speakers at the service commended the outgoing YOWICAN chairman, Enwere, for his efforts in promoting Christian youth engagement, national unity, and participation in nation-building.
In his remarks, Enwere expressed gratitude to the religious leaders and youth groups that supported his leadership.
He noted that his tenure focused on empowering Christian youths and strengthening interfaith understanding to ensure young people had a louder voice in national discourse.
Clergy members at the gathering also used the medium to reiterate the importance of faith-based organisations in fostering moral values and peaceful coexistence in Nigeria.
The presence of Seyi Tinubu was described by attendees as a gesture of solidarity between youth leaders across religious and political divides.
The event concluded with a reception attended by community leaders and dignitaries, who prayed for continued peace and progress in the country.(NAN)
