The Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion) on Wednesday celebrated the sixth anniversary of the enthronement of the Most Rev’d Henry Ndukuba as the Archbishop, Metropolitan, and Primate of All Nigeria.

The milestone was marked with a solemn Holy Communion Service at the Cathedral Church of the Advent, Life-Camp, Abuja, which drew a high-profile assembly of bishops, senior clergy, and political figures.

Ndukuba was enthroned on March 25, 2020, during the peak of the global COVID-19 pandemic.

Since then, his leadership has been defined by his “Decade of the Reign of God” vision, focusing on spiritual renewal and national transformation.

In his sermon titled “Celebrating God’s Goodness,” the Bishop of Kubwa Diocese, Rt. Rev’d Duke Akamisoko, urged the faithful to remain grateful for divine faithfulness.

Reading from Psalm 105, the preacher highlighted the Primate’s physical well-being and “journey mercies” during extensive pastoral travels as evidence of God’s sustaining grace.

Akamisoko commended the Primate for his steadfastness in strengthening the family unit and his “courage, clarity, and conviction” in defending orthodox Anglican doctrine on the global stage through the GAFCON movement.

“The Primate has shown leadership in navigating global ecclesiastical challenges, preserving the doctrinal integrity of the Church of Nigeria amidst shifting theological trends worldwide,” he said.

The Bishop also noted the expansion of the Church through the creation of new dioceses, describing it as a testament to Ndukuba’s effective administration and spiritual vitality.

He added that the Primate’s tenure has been marked by integrity, ensuring that “no Anglican will be ashamed” of the denomination’s current direction.

Notable dignitaries at the event included Prof. Jerry Gana, Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha, and several bishops, including Rt. Rev’d Paul Samuel Zamani (Kwoi), Rt. Rev’d Moses Tabwaye (Gwagwalada), and the Registrar of the Church, Mrs Kehinde Ajoni.

In his remarks, Primate Ndukuba expressed gratitude for the prayers of the members and the grace of God over the past six years.

“We return all glory to God for His faithfulness,” the Primate said.

The service concluded with a reaffirmation of the Church’s commitment to advancing its mission of faith, unity, and purpose across Nigeria and beyond.(NAN)
