The Ex-IGP Mohammed Abubakar Adamu Youth Volunteers, has unveiled a volunteer registration web portal ahead of 2027 general elections.
It would be reported that the initiative is aimed at mobilising one million youths support for the Social Democratic Party (SDP) governorship candidate in the state, Alhaji Mohammed Adamu.
Comrade Musa Danka, the President of the group, stated this during the inauguration of the volunteers and unveiling of the volunteers’ registration web portal on Sunday in Lafia.
Danka said: “The Ex-IGP Adamu Youth Volunteers is a grassroots-led socio-political youth organisation established with a vision to actualise the gubernatorial aspiration of Ex-IGP Mohammed Abubakar Adamu in Nasarawa State.”
According to him, the web portal is to digitise and organise volunteer networks in the state, and the group is targeting one million youths for Adamu’s success.
“The goal of the Ex-IGP Adamu Youth Volunteers is to protect the integrity and promote the legacy of Ex-IGP Adamu in Nasarawa State and Nigeria at large.
“The group will mobilise grassroots support for Ex-IGP Adamu through community town-hall meetings, rallies and door-to-door canvassing.
“It will also provide community development services and support the vulnerable, advocate for credible leadership, good governance and transparent electioneering process,” he said.
He assured of the group’s readiness to go to every nook and cranny to mobilise support for Adamu to actualise his gubernatorial ambition in 2027.
The group president said Adamu possessed all it takes to become the governor of the state.
Danka called on the youths and other people of the state to support Adamu’s governorship ambition.
In their separate remarks, Hon Solomon Yakubu Akwashiki, member representing Lafia Central Constituency at the State House of Assembly, and SDP candidate for Lafia/Obi Federal Constituency, Hon Salihu Musa Iyimoga, Director of Youth Mobilisation, Ex-IGP Adamu Campaign Organisation among others lauded the group’s initiative.
They urged the officials of the group to be good ambassadors of Adamu, and urged them to mobilise youths and other people in their local government areas for the success of Adamu in the 2027 general elections.
They further appreciated the SDP governorship candidate for empowering the people of the state via his different empowerment schemes.
They also urged supporters of Adamu to remain focused and mobilise support for Adamu and other SDP candidates to succeed.
Responding, Comrade Abubakar Musa Adamu, Nasarawa South Zonal Coordinator of the Ex-IGP Adamu Volunteers, promised to be a good ambassador of the group.
He promised the group’s readiness to mobilise support for the victory of Adamu and other SDP candidates across the state in 2027.
